Easter Egg Hunt Cupcake Tutorial

These Easter themed cupcakes are fun and so easy to do!  The basket in the background is one my mom crocheted around cool whip container. It's has a plastic canvas handle and pom pon bunny face on front. Bet you didn't know I still had this mom!!

#233 Frosting Decorating Tip
Decorating Bag (I use disposable ones)
Small Easter egg shaped candies (Cadbury chocolates, jelly beans, Whopper style eggs (my fav!))

Tint your frosting.  Use just a small amount of paste to color the frosting. It doesn't take much and if you put too much in you can't go back! Add icing to decorator bag fitted with decorator's tip.

Place tip near cupcake top, squeeze, and pull up - releasing as you go so the flow stops.
It is OK if you grass isn't perfect.  No one's lawn is the same and the grass lays all sorts of directions.  If you find you don't like part of it, scrape it off and frost again.
Top with egg shaped candies.
Sprinkle on little flower shaped sprinkles for added effect.

  1. Nice job, Jenny. I have a couple of suggestions though. You could take the tip (don't know exactly what it's called) that makes ribbon-like lines and go around the outer edge of the cupcake top to look like the rim of a basket and then pipe the grass in. Take a pipe cleaner and cut to make a basket handle. :)

  2. G'day and how cute and inspirational Jenny!
    Cheers! Joanne
